‘Ukraine and Georgia this year celebrate 25 years of restoration of the diplomatic relations, and our nations could be proud of this first momentous anniversary. I am honoured on behalf of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to assure you that Ukraine will always be among the most trusted friends and partners of Georgia,’ declared A. Parubii, the Chairperson of the Parliament of Ukraine at the Wednesday meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia in Ukraine Mikheil Ukleba. The parties had lively talks over the bilateral relations, having stressed the much brisker political discourse and the vast relationship agenda. ‘Under the ongoing Russian aggression and temporary occupation of some territories of Ukraine and Georgia, a much higher level of our inter-Parliamentary engagement has proved to be of a pressing need within parliamentary assemblies of the leading international organizations, such as PACE, PABSEC and GUAM Parliamentary Assembly,’ said A.Parubii.
The Ambassador Mikheil Ukleba, in turn, greeted Ukrainians with the visa free regime. ‘Citizens of Ukraine have won the chance to be free to visit Europe, which is of great importance for them,’ said the head of the Georgian diplomatic mission in Ukraine.
The parties talked over and warmly welcomed the coming visit of the Ukrainian parliamentary chairperson to Tbilisi scheduled on May 28-30 of the current year within the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.

II. Ukraine to Italy: Our Parliaments do have wings for takeoff
‘It is imperative that we actuate our Parliaments through closer interactions,’ said A.Parubii, the Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine at the Wednesday meeting with Davide La Cecilia, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy in Ukraine.
The politicians discussed the further activation of bilateral inter-Parliamentary ties and the program of the forthcoming visit of our parliamentary head to Italy planned for this June 4-5. The visit which was named by A.Parubii as ‘the new page in our relations’. Boosting for the inter-Parliamentary contacts is supposed to be trigged by the Memorandum on Ukrainian-Italian inter-Parliamentary collaboration to be signed very soon. The Ambassador, in turn, confirmed the memorandum hopes and thanked our friendship group’s MPs for their selfless work. He once again supported Ukraine’s integrity and sovereignty, and invited the Ukrainian parliamentary chairperson to take part in the G7 ambassadors’ meeting set too for this June.
Davide La Cecilia noted that Italy was well aware of our course of reforms, in economy and anti-graft areas in particular; having then offered a through exchange of the knowledge acquired by Italy in anti-corruption and public administration realms. The issues of the macroeconomic stabilization, the eastern Ukraine problem and humanitarian aid were also touched by the parties.
III. A.Parubii: Reforming of Education and Science above all for Parliament and me
At the Parliamentary Award Ceremony on Wednesday the Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine A.Parubii, handing awards to young Ukrainian scientist, teachers, educators, activists, stressed that ‘reforms in education and science are among priorities for the Verkhovna Rada and myself personally’. He also reminded that the Parliament adopted this year budget with increased allocations for wages and salaries to scientists and teachers. This trend is likely to be saved for 2018. The Parliament carries on European reforms in education since ‘shaping new European citizens is only able through the new and high grade education system’.
The Parliament’s head also handed over awards to 3 prizes’ winners and 16 parliamentary annual prizes for educators.
One hundred thirty eight young most talented scientists in basic and applied research sphere became the 2015 year winners of the Parliament’s Prize. ‘We today reward these young scientists as they are the very persons who personify the future of our science!,’ underlined A.Parubii.
