"The Ukrainian legislature should request the European Parliament to consider providing Ukraine with visa-free access to the European Union before 2017," First Deputy Chair of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Iryna Heraschenko said at a briefing.

Iryna Heraschenko noted that today, the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs of the European Parliament approved the mechanism of suspending visa-free travels to the EU.

The politician informed that the last session week in the European Parliament starts December 12 and expressed hope that Ukraine's international partners would support our state.

She said that the Ukrainian society finds it particularly important to see Europe's responsible policy, in particular, fulfillment of its obligations.

Iryna Heraschenko informed that today one more event which is very important for Ukraine is taking place — a conference of the OSCE with the participation of foreign affairs ministers of the OSCE member countries.

She added that Foreign Affairs Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin is a participant in that conference. "The first question he raises there is the responsibility of the Russian Federation for non-fulfillment of the Minsk agreements and for numerous violations of the ceasefire regime by the Russia-supported militants," the politician said.

She also stressed the importance of assistance of Ukraine's European partners in fight against the aggressor.

The First Deputy Chair of the Ukrainian Parliament praised fruitful work of the Parliamentary Committees on European Integration and on Foreign Affairs.

In turn, Deputy Chair of the Committee on European Integration Mariya Ionova noted the importance of the decision of the European Parliament's Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs and expressed hope that the ratification of the Ukraine - European Union Association Agreement will be positive.
