At the Monday meeting of the Conciliatory Council of the heads of the parliamentary factions and the chairs of the Verkhovna Rada committees, Chairman of the Ukrainian legislature, Andriy Parubiy, initiated signing of the Security and Responsibility Act.

"I am confident that the document as an agreement between the coalition and the opposition has to be signed by the chairs of the parliamentary factions," he said. The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada called on the political forces despite their being either in the coalition or opposition to show the society and Ukraine's foreign partners the unity in the issues of security.

According to Parubiy, despite their tactical disagreement, the Ukrainian political forces remain united from the point of view of strategy. "We are united in the issues of economy, military, energy, humanitarian and information policies," he noted.

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada stressed: "We have to prevent the country from turning back." Andriy Parubiy suggested that the chairs of the factions discuss that important issue at the meetings of their factions and expressed confidence that the level of joint responsibility is still high.
