On Thursday, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Andriy Parubiy, met with Head of the European Union Delegation to Ukraine Hugues Mingarelli, Head of the Support Group for Ukraine of the European Commission, Peter Wagner, and European Commission expert Gregor Virant.

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada noted the importance of intensification of abolition of European Union visas for the Ukrainian citizens and completion of the Ukraine - EU Association Agreement ratification.

Andriy Parubiy thanked for the decision of the EU to prolong the sanctions against the Russian Federation. He also stressed that the visa abolition decision is of particular importance especially on the eve of "a Maidan events anniversary."

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada expressed hope that the issue will be settled during the forthcoming week at a meeting of the European Parliament.

Mr. Mingarelli noted that the European Parliament members are ready to support these decisions and assured that response to the issues will be given during the upcoming week (within the framework of the Summit scheduled for November 23).

The meeting participants also discussed reformation of the Ukrainian Parliament and offered to establish an expert group to exchange opinions and elaborate proposals.
