On Tuesday, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Andriy Parubiy, met with curator of the Kryvbas battalion, M.Kolesnyk, and mothers of Ukrainian military men held hostage by the militants.

The participants in the meeting discussed provision of the status of 'captive' to military men taken hostage.

Kolesnyk noted that the Kryvyi Rih city council initiated provision of monetary aid to the families of military men, who are considered missing or held hostage in Donbas. However, such an initiative can be implemented only if the status of 'captive' is legislatively regulated.

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada supported the initiative and noted that the ATO troopers' families have to be protected by the state. He also noted the necessity for establishment of respective workgroup at the earliest possible time.
