The Sejm of the Republic of Poland has passed joint Ukrainian-Lithuanian Declaration of Memory and Solidarity on events of World War Two and the ongoing Russia's aggression against Ukraine, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Andriy Parubiy, said opening the Friday plenary meeting.

According to Parubiy, the declaration was supported by 367 members of the Polish Sejm. The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada expressed confidence that Ukraine and Poland have eased the tensions and showed real political wisdom. "We are enhancing anti-Putin coalition of free states," he said.

Andriy Parubiy thanked Marshal of the Sejm Marek Kuchcinski and Polish parliamentarians for the decision.

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada expressed hope that in early December 2016, the newly elected Parliament of the Republic of Lithuania will pass the Declaration as well.
