The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada said this during the Conciliatory Council of the heads of the parliamentary factions and the chairpersons of the Verkhovna Rada committees on Monday, October 3.
"Earlier, the Putin's regime did its best to erase the free speech and expanded persecution of own journalists. Today it proves that foreign journalists are not safe there anymore," Parubiy said.
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada suggested that the members of the Conciliatory Council discuss the issue of termination of the Agreement signed between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the Russian Federation on visa-free regime for the citizens of Ukraine and the Russian Federation.
Besides, according to Andriy Parubiy, the sanctions against Russia should be expanded today.
"We have to respond to the actions of the Russian authorities against Ukrainian journalists," he said.
