Within the framework of his official visit to Strasbourg (the French Republic), Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Andriy Parubiy, had a meeting with European Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn.
The parties discussed further cooperation between the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the European Parliament, in particular, introduction of visa-free regime by the EU for the Ukrainian citizens.
The European Commissioner noted a number of elements required for further cooperation and informed that he was watching the course of reforms in Ukraine, in particular, in the field of energy.
Mr. Hahn said the EU is eager to see the bill on the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Utilities adopted in second reading.
The European official assured he will continue doing his best to ensure introduction of visa-free regime for Ukraine.
