On Friday, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Andrii Parubii told the Rada TV Channel that the signature of the constitutional amendments touching justice was one of the most important events last week.
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada said the judicial reform will undergo several stages: large-scale purge/reshuffle of judges; and withdrawal of judges' immunity. He said judges would have the same rights as any other citizen.
He also noted that another important step would be the elimination of the risks of corruption. "Judges will declare not only their property, but the property of their families. If the way of life of a judge is not in line with the declared amounts, he/she will be removed from the office," he said.
