Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andrii Parubii has taken part in the solemn flower-laying ceremony to the Memorial Mound to hero liquidators of the Chornobyl nuclear power plant disaster consequences on the territory of the Saint Archangel Michael church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Moscow Patriarchate and to the monument to Soldiers of Chornobyl on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Chornobyl NPP disaster.
The largest manmade disaster in the history of the humankind took place on April 26, 1986. The Chornobyl NPP stopped operation in 2000. Currently a protective confinement is being built at the NPP. The works are expected to end before 2017.
