"A historical event took place yesterday — the European Commission suggested that the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union introduce visa-free regime for the citizens of Ukraine. That is a remarkable achievement, first of all for those millions of Ukrainians, who took to Maidan Nezalezhnosti square with mottos saying 'Ukraine is Europe!' That is a significant achievement of our heroes, who are currently protecting our country in the frontline outside the population centers of Shyrokyne, Avdiivka, Pisky, Schastia," Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andrii Parubii said in his opening speech at the parliamentary meeting on Thursday, April 21.

Parubii noted that the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of VIII convocation has done its best to adopt all the draft laws required for the introduction of the visa-free regime for Ukraine.

The Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada reminded that he had the honor to head the workgroup for liberalization of the visa regime and said: "The Parliament managed to adopt all the laws and overcome all the challenges we faced."

All the laws were the achievement only of current people's deputies of Ukraine as "none of the previous Ukrainian parliaments ever managed to adopt any of them." "I congratulate you on this important decision!" Parubii said.
