Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced cooperation with Ukraine on the development of a modern fleet of drones. “Our country is effectively becoming a technology partner for Warsaw, as we possess the necessary experience, expertise, and effective solutions. Furthermore, thanks to its unique experience, Ukraine can play an important role in a future European Defense Union, should it be established.”

This was stated by Yehor Cherniev, a member of the Servant of the People faction, deputy chair of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security, Defense, and Intelligence, and head of Ukraine’s permanent delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.

“Today, Ukraine is effectively becoming a technology partner for Poland, because we have the experience, we have the know-how, and we have effective solutions. Accordingly, there will be a transfer of expertise and the creation of joint design bureaus where our specialists and Polish specialists will work together. In addition, it is important for us to establish joint ventures for drone production using European funds. This will allow us to manufacture defense products for our needs until the end of the war. If production is closer to us, the logistical burden will be lighter, and on Polish territory, it will also be protected from russian strikes,” the politician noted.

He is convinced that such cooperation between Ukraine and Poland will benefit both countries.

At the same time, the MP added that, in general, Ukraine’s defense capabilities and our experience could also be useful in implementing the idea of creating a European Defense Union, which is currently being actively discussed within the EU.

“The idea of integrating the European Union’s and Ukraine’s largest and most effective defense capabilities, as well as the most effective technologies that have already proven themselves on the battlefield, could strengthen both Ukraine and the EU. In addition, the possibility of bringing the United Kingdom and Norway into the European Defense Union is being discussed. The UK, as a maritime power, and Norway, as an Arctic power, will further strengthen this single integrated arms market and, more broadly, the security alliance of all European countries,” the parliamentarian emphasized.
