On 4 February, Oleksandr Merezhko, Chair of the Committee on Foreign Policy and Interparliamentary Cooperation, held meetings with Stefania Craxii, Chair of the Foreign Affairs and Security Committee of the Senate of the Italian Republic, and with Giulio Tremonti, Chair of the Foreign Affairs and EU Affairs Committee of the Chamber of Deputies of the Italian Republic. The events were held via videoconference.

During the meetings, the heads of the relevant foreign affairs committees discussed the current security and humanitarian situation in Ukraine, the prospects for a ceasefire and the peace process, in particular the elements of the peace plan, as well as the sanctions policy against the aggressor state and the strengthening of economic and military-technical assistance.

The interlocutors paid special attention to the discussion of the restoration of Ukraine's critical infrastructure and economy, Ukrainian-Italian interparliamentary dialogue, and the development of Ukraine's European and Euro-Atlantic integration.

Committee Chairman Oleksandr Merezhko expressed his gratitude to his Italian colleagues for their constant comprehensive support for our state.
