On 22-23 October 2025, Tokyo (Japan) hosted the annual Ukraine Mine Action Conference (UMAC 2025), which is a key international platform for coordinating efforts, sharing experiences and mobilising support in the field of humanitarian demining.
The event was attended by Dmytro Natalukha, Chairman of the Committee on Economic Development, who spoke during a panel business discussion on the development of the business environment in the mine action sector.
During his speech, Dmytro Natalukha emphasised that the development of national production of demining equipment and increasing the level of technology localisation are strategically important areas for Ukraine. Such initiatives, he said, will not only help accelerate humanitarian demining processes, but will also have a powerful economic effect - creating new jobs, supporting Ukrainian enterprises and strengthening the national economy.
The UMAC 2025 conference became a platform for a broad international dialogue involving high-level representatives of governments, local authorities, international organisations, the private sector, civil society and academia.
The conference underscores the consistent international support for Ukraine in overcoming the consequences of military action and restoring safe and sustainable economic development.
