On 25 September 2025, Oleksandr Merezhko, Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Policy and Interparliamentary Cooperation, met with Armin Laschet, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the German Bundestag, via video conference.
During the meeting, the interlocutors discussed issues of European security and transatlantic unity, the current security situation in Ukraine, prospects for a ceasefire and peace process, practical mechanisms for the transfer of frozen assets of the russian federation to Ukraine, as well as the need to increase support for Ukraine by foreign partners.
Special attention was paid to the discussion of Ukrainian-German cooperation and inter-parliamentary dialogue, as well as Ukraine's European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
Committee Chairman Oleksandr Merezhko expressed his gratitude to his German colleague for his support and stressed the importance of Ukraine's early accession to the European Union and NATO.
