The last day of the official visit of the delegation of the Committee on Environmental Policy and Nature Management to the Federal Republic of Germany began with a meeting with Danny Oenersorge, Executive Director of the Federation of the German Woodworking and Processing Industry and Related Industries (HDH). During the meeting, the activities of the Federation, the prospects for creating a single association of the woodworking industry in Ukraine, the specifics of the timber trade, as well as the requirements of German legislation and the provisions of the European EUDR Regulation were discussed.

The Executive Director of the German Forestry Association (DFV), Malte Kampshaide, presented the Forestry Expert Programme (FEP), focusing in detail on its objectives, legal basis and implementation mechanisms.

The Ukrainian delegation then held a meeting with German partners and representatives of the Ukrainian Embassy in Germany, during which Ukrainian parliamentarians expressed their sincere gratitude to the German people, parliament and government for their comprehensive and consistent support for Ukraine since the beginning of russia's armed aggression against Ukraine, as well as for the Federal Republic's active position in promoting our country's European aspirations.

Following the visit, the Ukrainian delegation agreed on further cooperation with German partners. The knowledge gained will be used to develop nature-friendly forestry in Ukraine, which will allow for the combination of economic, environmental and social interests in the field of forestry.

The Verkhovna Rada Committee on Environmental Policy and Nature Management expresses its gratitude to the Embassy of Ukraine in the Federal Republic of Germany, in particular to the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Germany Oleksiy Makeyev and the staff of the diplomatic mission, for their assistance in organising and conducting the official visit.
