Adopted the Law of Ukraine on Amendments to the Law of Ukraine “On Advertising” on combating discrimination on the grounds of gender (No. 3427).

The Law proposes to:

- define the concepts of ‘discriminatory advertising’ and ‘sexually discriminatory advertising’;

- prohibit the use of discriminatory allegations and images in advertising;

- increase the size of fines for violations in advertising, especially in case of repeated violations and failure to provide or late provision of information to the authorities;

- introduce a public rebuttal of discriminatory advertising.

The Law is designed to implement the UN Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women and the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement.
