At the meeting it was stated that the Bill (Reg. No. 0951) aims at supplementing Article 65 of the Law "On Higher Education" with a new part that envisages the following: "to render services in the field of higher education and relevant types of economic activity, higher educational establishments in public and municipal ownership can create subdivisions, acting due to regulations adopted under the procedure, established by the Statute of a higher educational establishment".
The People´s Deputy, Taras Chornovil, the author of the Bill, emphasized that adoption of the Bill aims at a clear-cut definition of the right to create independent cost centres by the higher educational establishments in public and municipal ownership.
At the meeting it was also emphasized that adoption of the Law will facilitate optimization and development of extra types of activity of higher educational establishments, enhancement of their financial provision.
