On Wednesday 9 January 2008, The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, A. Yatseniuk, forwarded a letter to The President of Ukraine, V. Yushchenko, saying that the matter of continuing the workings of the First Session of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the 6th Convocation up until the Opening of the Second Session of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, will be introduced on 14 January 2008 for consideration by The Conciliatory Council of Deputy Factions in The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine
'In connection with your proposals to continue proceedings of the First Session of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the 6th Convocation up until the Opening of the Second Session of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, I hereby inform you that, pursuant to Legislative Provisions appertaining to the Organisation of the Workings of Parliament, this matter will be introduced on 14 January 2008 for consideration by The Conciliatory Council of Deputy Factions in The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
Under the decision taken by Parliament on 28 December 2007 on the adoption of the Planned Schedule for the First Session of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the 6th Convocation in January 2008, The Committee of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine are currently elaborating on, using an established procedure, 592 Bills for consideration by The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
At the same time, from those Bills currently elaborated on in the Committees of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, only four are defined as urgent by the Legislative initiators,' the Letter states.
