The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine O. Moroz emphasizes that the recent TV address by the President of Ukraine was based on partial truth and barefaced insinuations, and aimed at a conscious discrediting of Parliament.
Answering the questions of journalists about impressions that he gained from the television address of V.Yushchenko, the Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada responded: "It is a pity that the President of the country consciously resorts to discrediting of the Parliament. It is a pity that he exploits partial truth and barefaced insinuations for that. The biggest pity is that he resorts to worthless demagogy, illegally agitating for a particular political force. The political force that strives to buy electors´ credit in such a worthless way is, definitely, poor".
The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine considers V.Yushchenko´s propaganda for abolition of benefits as equally "worthless method". "There is no doubt that it should be implemented. However, we have already considered this issue in the Parliament. Whose votes were not in a sufficient number for the effective voting? Those of "Our Ukraine", the third part of its members failed to vote. On the whole 32 votes together with 215 votes of the People´s Deputies (the communists and the socialists unanimously seconded the proposal) would suffice without more ado," commented O.Moroz.
"The most important thing is not to tell lies to the electors, but look around and consider the vice which artificial hostility among the people inflicts to the society in general. Especially, if it originates from the State leaders," stated O.Moroz.
