The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine O. Moroz insists that the calculation method for the State officers ' retirement benefit is also applied to teachers and that this provision be included in the Law on Teachers' Retirement Benefit Scheme.
Speaking at the Ministry of Education and Science Collegium, held on Friday, 17 August, O.Moroz stated that the provision should consist of 80 per cent of relevant wage with all extra charges, assigned for the State officers.
The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada also called for settling the urgent issue considered at the sections´ meetings of the Collegium, namely, to render the right to open accounts to the large schools which will enable them to independently handle their funds.
O.Moroz also declared for centralized upkeep of out-of-school establishments, clubs etc.
The Chairman characterized the situation around extraordinary parliamentary election as "a political adventure, an attempt of constitutional upheaval." "I take into consideration the prospects of teachers as well. Unless we transfer authority to the regions, change status of councils, abolish local administrations, and amend budget and tax legislation, we will not be able to settle a number of issues of teachers´ concern," stated O.Moroz.
