At the beginning of the meeting, Robert Ford, Mission Chief and Advisor in the European Department of the IMF, congratulated A. Yatseniuk on his election to the post of the Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, in his turn, expressed his interest in the macroeconomic indices reflective of the development of the world economy.
During the meeting, A. Yatseniuk expressed his belief in a new Government being formed on Tuesday 10 December, to shortly submit a revised Draft State Budget 2008 to Parliament.
R. Ford also expresses his hope that the new Ukrainian Government will take steps to provide and efficient monetary and fiscal policy.
During the meeting, the Parties discussed the matters related to a long-term anti-inflation strategy and exchanged their visions of processes currently taking place in the Ukrainian monetary market.
