Volodymyr Groysman: The Verkhovna Rada shall elaborate a clear plan of legislative activity for 2015

On Monday Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada Volodymyr Groysman met with Head of the European Union Delegation to Ukraine Jan Tombinski.

The Parties discussed work of the Ukrainian Parliament in the part of implementing constitutional reforms and both agreed that the work on amendments to the Basic Law shall be completely transparent and shall include opinions of the Venice Commission. Volodymyr Groysman claimed that amendments to the Constitution and legislation require a complex approach.

According to the Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada, amendments to the Constitution shall be submitted by October, 2015, since local elections shall be held on the new constitutional basis, and a solid foundation for local self-government shall be created. 

Volodymyr Groysman also informed that the national rehabilitation plan is being elaborated. He expressed gratitude to European partners that are helping Ukraine. "Changing the system of country's governance will be a guarantee of implementing reforms", stressed the Chairperson of the Parliament. 

He claimed that the Verkhovna Rada shall elaborate a clear plan of legislative activity for 2015.  

Deputy Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada Oksana Syroid stressed the importance of reforming judicial and legal systems of the country, ensuring transparency of all processes, engaging representatives of civil society. In her words, this will allow elaborate "a comprehensive constitutional reform".
