On December 5 meeting, Chairperson of the Committee Yehor Soboliev congratulated all the present on the beginning of work of the Verkhovna Rada of the eighth convocation and introduced members of the Committee.
In his words, among significant achievements of the Verkhovna Rada of the previous convocation is adoption of the laws "On Corruption Counteraction" and "On the National Anti-Corruption Bureau".
At the meeting, the Committee members discussed the suggestions on the list and competence of the subcommittees.
People's deputies discussed efficiency of corruption counteraction and methods of its prevention, educational projects, Committee's controlling powers, etc.
The Committee members upheld public initiatives on inviting to the meeting of the Committee representatives of the Prosecutor General's Office and the Ministry of Internal Affairs for reporting about investigations of corruption and economic crimes, as well as about events of January and February on the Independence Square; and the Minister of Justice – regarding the issues on introducing amendments to several laws on disclosure of information of the State Register.
