Chairperson of the Committee Mykola Tomenko informed that the Committee includes 15 people's deputies of Ukraine.
Under article 37 of the Law "On Committees of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine", in order to ensure main areas of the Committee's activity, following six subcommittees have been established:
on protection and rational use of subsoil and water recourses;
on forest resources, objects of animal and plant worlds, natural landscapes, and objects of nature reserve fund;
on state monitoring of the natural environment;
on state policy in the sphere of waste management;
on elimination of the consequences of Chornobyl catastrophe, social protection of people suffering from Chornobyl catastrophe;
on civil protection of population, prevention and elimination of consequences of man-made or natural emergencies.
Chairpersons of four subcommittees were elected at the meeting:
on protection and rational use of subsoil and water recourses – BALYTSKYI Yevhen Vitaliiovych;
on state monitoring of the natural environment – RYBAK Ivan Petrovych;
on state policy in the sphere of waste management – TRYHUBENKO Serhii Mykolaiovych;
on elimination of the consequences of Chornobyl catastrophe, social protection of people suffering from Chornobyl catastrophe – MOSKALENKO Yaroslav Mykolaiovych.
Chairpersons of another two subcommittees and composition of the subcommittees will be considered at the next meeting.
