The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the Resolution “On the list, quantitative composition and jurisdiction of the committees of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the eighth convocation”

 Under article 89 of the Constitution of Ukraine and article 5 of the Law of Ukraine “On the Committees of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine”, the people’s deputies established committees of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the eighth convocation:

1) Committee on Agrarian Policy and Land Relations;

2) Committee on Construction, Urban Development, Housing and Communal Services;

3) Committee on Budget Policy;

4) Committee on State Building, Regional Policy and Local Self-Government;

5) Committee on Environmental Policy, Nature Resources Utilization and Elimination of the Consequences of Chornobyl Catastrophe;

6) Committee on Economic Policy;

7) Committee on European Integration;

8) Committee on Legislative Support of Law Enforcement;

9) Committee on Corruption Prevention and Counteraction;

10) Committee on Foreign Affairs;

11) Committee for Informatization and Communications;

12) Committee on Culture and Spirituality;

13) Committee on Science and Education;

14) Committee on National Security and Defence;

15) Committee on Public Health;

16) Committee on Fuel and Energy Complex, Nuclear Policy and Nuclear Safety;

17) Committee on Taxation and Customs Policy;

18) Committee on Human Rights, National Minorities and International Relations;

19) Committee on Judicial Policy and Justice;

20) Committee on Industrial Policy and Entrepreneurship;

21) Committee on Rules of Parliamentary Procedure and Support to Work of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine;

22) Committee on Freedom of Speech and Information Policy;

23) Committee on Family Matters, Youth Policy and Sports;

24) Committee on Social Policy, Employment and Pension Provision;

25) Committee on Matters of Veterans and Persons with Disabilities;

26) Committee on Transport;

27) Committee on Financial Policy and Banking.

It is stipulated that each committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the eighth convocation shall include not less than 11 and not more than 35 people’s deputies of Ukraine.

The document determines jurisdiction of each committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the eighth convocation in line with part one of article 5 of the Law of Ukraine “On the Committees of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.”

The Resolution includes a provision according to which, in case a bill, a draft resolution or any other act that is subject to the jurisdiction of two or more parliamentary committees is referred for consideration to the Verkhovna Rada, the main committee to consider such a bill shall be determined by the Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, in line with article 88 of the Constitution of Ukraine, including on the proposal of the Conciliatory Council of Deputy Factions (Deputy Groups) in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, unless the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine brings consideration of such bill under jurisdiction of the Interim Special Commission of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, established according to article 89 of the Constitution of Ukraine.

The Resolution was adopted with consideration of proposals.

The respective draft Resolution was registered under No. 1004.
