Oleksandr Turchynov: Armed Forces and National Guard are ready to protect Ukraine and liberate it from terrorists and occupants

On Tuesday Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov inspected readiness of defensive lines in the ATO area.
Being on the forefront of our positions, Oleksandr Turchynov stressed that the military have done a lot in constructing defensive lines "however, we still need to strengthen an engineering and technical component, provide army with the up-to-date means of detecting the enemy and destroying artillery positions".
In words of the Chairperson of the Parliament, "one of the priorities of our defence department" is increasing the fire and armour potential of our Armed Forces". "No doubt that the most important task is providing our military with everything necessary so that they could feel confident in autumn and winter period", he added.
"The defensive lines are aimed at protecting civilians, who reside in cities, villages, and townships of Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts, from armed groups of terrorists and Armed Forces of the Russian Federation which have seized parts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions", claimed Oleksandr Turchynov, adding that Russia keeps increasing its military and technical potential on the occupied territory.
He noted that "our military men are in combative mood, they are ready to protect the country, ready to repel any attacks of the Russian army, and ready to counterattack".
The Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine called the help of citizens of Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts, particularly citizens of Mariupol, in constructing fortifications and engineering structures extremely important. According to him, "they genuinely help our military, because they are defending their homes, lives and country".
Oleksandr Turchynov stated that regardless of all Minsk negotiations, Russian military are constantly breaking the ceasefire "they are constantly attacking our positions, we are losing our heroes, there are civilian casualties".
"Still, the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the National Guard are ready to fulfill their duty, they are ready to protect Ukraine and liberate it from terrorists and occupants", he claimed.
