Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov signed and sent to the Head of State the laws on the prosecutor's office and on prevention and counteraction to legalization of the proceeds received in a criminal way.
The Law of Ukraine "On the Prosecutor's Office" establishes legal foundations of the prosecutor's office of Ukraine organization, the system of the prosecutor's office, the status of prosecutors, the order of prosecutor's self-government, the system and general order of ensuring the prosecutor's office work.
The Law of Ukraine "On prevention and counteraction to legalization (laundering) of the proceeds from crime or terrorism financing, as well as financing proliferation of weapons of mass destruction" is aimed at securing implementation of provisions of new international standards in the sphere of counteraction to laundering money and combating terrorism financing.
The Verkhovna Rada adopted these laws on October 14 with 316 and 232 votes accordingly.
