The Committee on the Rule of Law and Justice recommends the Parliament should adopt in the second reading and in entirety the draft law on amendments to several legislative acts of Ukraine (re recognizing the status of legal hospitals as subjects providing free primary and secondary legal aid)

Committee members noted that the bill (Reg. No. 0926) aims at granting legal hospitals at jural higher educational institutions of Ukraine the status of subjects providing free primary and secondary legal aid.    

People’s deputies drew attention that the bill aims at eliminating gaps in legal regulation and functioning of legal hospitals at jural higher educational institutions of Ukraine as subjects providing such assistance; and at simplifying the procedure and decreasing financial expenditures for vulnerable layers of population of our state when they exercise their right to the court representative in public and administrative cases and in cases on administrative infringements.    

The draft law suggests amending the Code of Civil Procedure, the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Proceedings, the Code on Administrative Infringements and the Law “On Free Legal Aid”.

The Committee considered and included a number of suggestions from the subjects of legislative initiative during preparation of the bill for the second reading.
