The participants of the meeting, which was held on the request of the Finnish party, stressed that this event is essential for extension and strengthening of cooperation between Ukraine and the Republic of Finland. 

Valentyn Nalyvaichenko, First Deputy Head of the Foreign Relations Committee, welcomed the Finnish counterparts and emphasized that Ukraine and the Republic of Finland “have been maintaining strong relations supported by the inter-parliamentary groups of friendship.” He informed the parliamentary delegates that a deputy group of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on the inter-parliamentary liaison with the Republic of Finland had been set up. He also stressed that “it is one of the first groups of friendship that have actively started to work in the new convocation of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.”

Valentyn Nalyvaichenko assured his Finnish counterparts that progress towards Europe is the national priority of Ukraine.

People’s deputies, members of the deputy group of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on the inter-parliamentary liaison with the Republic of Finland Artur Palatnyi and Ruslan Solvar have taken part in the meeting.
