The bill (Reg. No. 2282) suggests amendments to the Law “On Personal Data Protection” that, except the determined by the Law “On the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights” empower the Commissioner with the following:
scheduled and unscheduled, on-site and off-site, inspections of owners and / or managers of personal data;
recommendation in the sphere of personal data protection;
monitoring new practices, tendencies and technologies of personal data protection etc.
The bill suggests to set the transition period of 6 months from the date of its publication in order to bring all legislation in line with it, and to enable the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada for Human Rights to prepare for the implementation of new powers.
