The Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Koshulynskyi referred the address to the Minister on Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Leonid Kozhara in regard to necessity of expanding cross border movement zone between Ukraine and the Republic of Poland.

R.Koshulynskyi informed the Minister on his participation in the work of the international conference in the city of Krasiczyn (the Republic of Poland), during which the issue of near-border cooperation between both countries was discussed.

The Deputy Chairman of the Parliament specified that the issue of refinement of organization of local cross-border movement between Ukraine and the Republic of Poland was one of the top priorities in the agenda of the conference.

He reminded that the Agreement on local cross-border movement with Poland was enacted on July 1, 2009. This Agreement introduced the simplified system of crossing Ukrainian-Polish border for border zone residents and, at the request of the European Commission, determined the 30-kilometer zone of action.

Instead, according to R.Koshulynskyi, the issue of increasing zone of action of the local cross-border movement from 30 to 50 kilometers was brought to discussion during the conference. This is explained by the fact that lately significant activation of business cooperation and exchange between the citizens of Ukraine and Poland can be observed specifically in the 50- kilometers zone.

Ruslan Koshulynskyi addressed the Minister with a request to inform the standing of the Ministry on this issue and to inform also on the presently achieved agreements and prospects of its practical settlement.
