ADDRESS of the people’s deputies of Ukraine*
Dear citizens of Ukraine!
We, the people’s deputies of Ukraine, who signed this address just as you are indignant with the fact that instead of fruitful legislative work, the Verkhovna Rada is constantly blocked, and ultimatums and ultra calls are voiced out.
We, just as you, are indignant with the fact that instead of adopting the laws people are in need with, the laws that would pull the country out of crisis, increase living standards and protect constitutional rights and freedoms of the citizens of Ukraine only the suggestions that split and divide the society on linguistic, ethnic or religious grounds are referred to the session hall.
Besides, we cannot but mention a shameful incident that occurred near the Parliament on Tuesday, April 2. The rebels form opposition showered stones and ice upon female deputies. This is savagery and shame. We demand of opposition: temperate your supporters; tell them that irrespective of party affiliation you cannot throw stones at women. Be at least men, after all. The opposition has proclaimed the slogan “country liberation”, but the country cannot be freed by throwing stones at women’s back.
We are convinced that it can no longer remain this way; we should put an end to it!
We are ready for fruitful and responsible work.
That is why we address all deputy colleagues with a call to stop communicating the language of ultimatum and blackmailing and recall all your promises and obligations before voters, before the people of Ukraine.
Ukraine needs effective people’s Parliament!
