The bill (Reg. No. 2324) aims at “increasing investment attractibility of the branch by establishing legal and economic basis for stable effective development of woodworking and furniture industry and bringing several provisions of the Forest Code in line with current legislation”.

Article 18 of the Code is suggested to be amended.

Attention was focused on the fact that the State Forest Resources Agency does not uphold the draft law and deems “amendments to the Forest Code in the part of providing temporary users with the right to timber extraction to harm environmental safety, as well as financial status of state forestry enterprises and forest branch in general”.

It was said that the Central Scientific Experts Office of the Verkhovna Rada Secretariat recommends reject the bill.
