The Chairman of the Committee Petro Cybenko reminded that the parliamentary hearings took place on June 6, 2008. Members of the hearings stressed that the ratification of the Charter by Ukraine on September 14, 2006, appliance to its norms and standards are the key conditions for realization of European aspirations of Ukraine and demands of constructive cooperation between the Verkhovna Rada, Government, central bodies of executive power and the parties of social dialogue.
The Government is recommended to prepare and submit for consideration of the Verkhovna Rada legislative proposals regarding:
Ukraine’s joining to the provisions of the European Social Charter (revised);
Ukraine’s joining to the Additional protocol of the European Social Charter (revised) that presupposes the system of joint appeal;
ratification of the European Code on social security;
ratification by Ukraine the conventions of the International Labour Organization:
No.173 Protection of Workers Claims (Employer's Insolvency) (third part);
No. 88 Organization of employment service;
No. 181 Private employment agencies etc.
Respective recommendations are sent to the Ministry of Social Policy, the Social Insurance Fund against accidents and occupational diseases and the parties of social dialogue.
The Committee plans to hold hearings “On the implementation of the revised European Social Charter in Ukraine” in October this year.
