The Committee on State Building and Local Self-Government recommends that the Parliament should adopt as a basis the bill to amend the Law “On Local Self-Government in Ukraine” (re openness and publicity of local self-government bodies)

The bill (Reg. No. 1149) proposes, particularly, to constitute that members of territorial community will be entitled to attend sessions of local councils, meetings of executive committees and permanent commissions of local councils. In this respect, it is proposed to constitute free entrance regime to the quarters of local self-government bodies that are located on the territories of respective territorial communities (upon presentation of a passport).      

According to the authors of the bill, its adoption will allow to apply practically the principles of publicity and openness in local self-government bodies’ service, to enable members of territorial community to visit local self-government bodies freely and personally receive information on the work of the deputies of local councils and members of executive committees.
