Marshal of the Senate of the Republic of Poland Bogdan Borusewicz and Chairman of the Seimas of the Lithuanian Republic Vydas Gedvilas claim their support of Ukraine on its way to the European Union.

“Ukraine can rely on the support of Poland,” said Bogdan Borusewicz during the opening of the V Assembly meeting of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Saejma of the Republic of Lithuania and Sejm and Senate of the Republic of Poland in Warsaw on Tuesday.

In particular, he stressed that “political reality of Eastern Europe countries is of extreme importance to Europe in general and implementation of rapprochement mechanisms of Eastern and Central Europe is important both in trade-economical and human dimensions”. Marshal of the Senate of the Republic of Poland deems pooling efforts in fighting against modern threats, as well as strengthening of military cooperation and joint search for security of energy supply, which, according to him, is a real security guarantee of any state, to be also important.

Chairmen of Polish and Lithuanian parliaments stated “common will of many of political forces in Ukraine towards the European course”.

Vydas Gedvilas stressed that implementation of the European aspirations of Ukraine, particularly signing of the EU Association Agreement, is the highest goal of the Trilateral Assembly.
