The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Rybak is grateful to the Republic of Poland for active and consistent support of Euro-integrational course of our state.

“Strategic Euro-integrational direction of Ukraine remains unchangeable. This is clearly voiced out by the President, the Government and the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, who has adopted the respective Statement on February 22 this year,” said Volodymyr Rybak during the meeting with Marshal of the Senate of the Republic of Poland Bogdan Borusewicz and Marshal of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland Ewa Kopacz in Warsaw on Monday.

According to Volodymyr Rybak, the results of the EU-Ukraine Summit in Brussels, which has become an important event in our relations with the EU, have become possible due to active and consistent support of Euro-integrational course of Ukraine on the part of Polish colleagues.

“European integration for us is, first of all, holding of systemic reforms. This is a time consuming and not a simple way which we have to pass through,” said Volodymyr Rybak, and added that “signing of the Association Agreement is the top priority of Ukraine”. Not less important is further simplification of visa requirements for Ukrainian citizens and introduction of visa-free regime, which is one of the key priorities in our cooperation with the European Union.

According to Volodymyr Rybak, the Ukrainian Parliament shall consider 6-7 bills pertaining to European integration in the nearest time. “I believe that there are no obstacles to consider these issues,” he said, noting thereat that all political forces in the Verkhovna Rada are interested in this apart from, possibly, the Communist Party.

In his turn, Bogdan Borusewicz noted that speaking about the prospects of Ukraine for association our country should be given the prospect of membership. Polish colleagues were interested in discussing of small border traffic, for, they believe, it is the prototype of visa-free regime for Ukraine.
