People’s deputies passed a resolution on holding parliamentary hearing on the eve of the next anniversary of Chornobyl disaster in order to analyze complex measures aimed at further social, medical and physiological rehabilitation of the citizens who suffered from Chornobyl disaster, economic revival and provision of stable development of settlements and territories beyond the borders of exclusion zone, that suffered radioactive contamination, as well as places of compact inhabitation of relocated groups of population, preservation of their cultural and historical heritage, significant reduction of radionuclide spreading outside the exclusion zone, strengthening and support of radiation safety barriers, decommissioning of Chernobyl NPP and the transformation of the "Ukryttya" into an ecologically safe system.
It is recommended to the Cabinet of Ministers to prepare and submit to Parliament the necessary information and analytical materials on the issue of parliamentary hearings, to determine the speaker in this question. According to the document, the Committee on Environmental Policy, Use of Natural Resources and Chornobyl Aftermath Mitigation has to suggest proposals on the recommendations of the parliamentary hearings, take the necessary measures for the organization and methods to support them.
