The Committee on Entrepreneurship, Regulatory and Antimonopoly Policy does not uphold the draft law on amendments to the Criminal and Criminal Procedural Codes of Ukraine regarding improvement of confiscation procedure

The bill (Reg. No. 1103) is aimed at improvement of confiscation procedure of property that was used to commit a crime or during the crime, and the property gained from the crime. To reach the aim it was proposed to supplement valid Criminal Code with new articles 96 “Special confiscation” and 96 “Cases of special confiscation”, and to amend a range of articles of the Criminal Procedural Code, by regulating grounds and procedure of special confiscation.

Members of the Committee stressed on the conclusion of the Central Scientific Experts Office of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Secretariat, according to which it is necessary to reject the bill.
