The bill (Reg. No. 0976) aims at refining legal regulation of the status of people’s deputies and the President of Ukraine.
The bill suggests the following versions of articles 80 and 105 of the Constitution of Ukraine:
“Article 80. People’s deputies of Ukraine do not bear legal responsibility for the results of voting or statements made in Parliament and its bodies, except for responsibility for insult or libel.
People’s deputy of Ukraine cannot be detained or arrested without the permission by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and before the conviction against him comes into force.
Article 105. The President of Ukraine exercises the right to immunity ad interim of performing his authorities.
Infringing of honor and dignity of the President of
Ukraine shall be brought to
justice under the law.
The title of President of Ukraine is protected by law and is preserved ad vitam”.
The bill corresponds to the requirements of the Main Law of Ukraine.
