The Committee on Legislative Support of Law Enforcement recommends that the Verkhovna Rada should adopt as a basis the draft law to amend several legislative acts of Ukraine re refinement of legislation in the sphere of corruption prevention and counteraction

The bill (Reg. No. 2033), submitted by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, suggests establishing criminal responsibility for an offer or promise to provide an official or any other employee of an enterprise, institution or organization, irrespective of the form of ownership, with improper advantage.

 

The notion of “bribe” is planned to be substituted by “improper advantage”. Respective amendments should be made to articles 368, 368-2, 368-3, 368-4, 369, and 370.

 

Laws “On Business Associations”, "On the Fundamentals of National Security of Ukraine", "On Corruption Prevention and Counteraction" and “On the Application of Amnesty in Ukraine” are to be also amended.

 

People’s deputies believe that adoption of the bill will promote fulfillment of Ukraine’s commitments regarding criminalization of corruption and will allow for bringing domestic legislation in line with international standards in this sphere.
