The bill (Reg. No. 1263), submitted by the President of Ukraine, suggests new version of the title and part 1 of the article 263-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

It was stated that the bill aims to implement the provisions of the Protocol against the Illicit Manufacturing of and Trafficking in Firearms, Their Parts and Components and Ammunition, supplementing United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime that was ratified by Ukraine on February 4, 2004.

Members of the Committee supported the bill. Its adoption will allow creating legal basis for implementation of the protocol provisions that will facilitate adequate counteraction to modern kinds of transnational crime and bring the guilty to criminal responsibility.
