The Committee on Social Policy and Labour recommend that the Verkhovna Rada should adopt as a basis draft law on adoption of Nationwide social program for security, occupational hygiene and working environment improvement for 2014-2018

As was mentioned on the hearing of the Committee, the bill (Reg. No. 1184), submitted by the Cabinet of Ministers, presupposes creation of regulatory conditions for complex solving of problems of labour protection, increasing efficiency of preventive measures of industrial injuries and occupational diseases, realization of state policy in this area at all levels.   

People’s deputies drew attention that the Program is developed as a strategic nationwide document that is based on the assessment of dangerous and harmful industrial factors and risks, and their management.

It was stressed that the aim of the Program is an active support of implementation of preventive measures at the working places, with the participation of the Parties of social dialogue. It will also be a basis for branch and regional programs.     

Members of the Committee supported the bill. According to them, its adoption will enable improvement of current legislation, improve current industrial security and labour protection, reduce industrial injuries and occupational diseases etc.
