“With deep sorrow and pain did the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine accept tragic news over the death of Hennadiy Yosypovych Udovenko, one of the founders of independent Ukrainian State and its foreign policy service, long term people’s deputy, politician and statesman, whose name in the world is inextricably intertwined with establishment of sovereign Ukraine on the international arena.
As a people’s deputy of Ukraine of III-V convocations, head of the parliamentary Committee on Human Rights, National Minorities and International Relations, and prominent Ukrainian diplomat Hennadiy Udovenko was one of the originators of legislative support of foreign policy course of independent Ukraine, forming whole array of Ukrainian legislation that now constitutes the legislative basis of European integration of Ukraine.
Natural patriotism, humanity, state and human wisdom as well as global thinking are the traits of unique personality of Hennadiy Yosypovych Udovenko that will forever remain in the memory of several generations of Ukrainian parliament members, voters, fellow diplomats and international partners of Ukraine.
The death of Hennadiy Yosypovych Udovenko is an irreparable loss for the whole Ukraine. On my own behalf and on behalf of the whole deputy corpus of Ukraine, I convey sincere condolences to his near and dear ones,” the condolence reads.
