The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Volodymyr Rybak will initiate the address the of the people’s deputies of Ukraine to the Constitutional Court of Ukraine in connection with the decision of the High Administrative Court of Ukraine to deprive people’s deputies P.Baloha and O.Dombrovskyi of mandates.

Having familiarized himself with the operative part of the Decision of the High Administrative Court of Ukraine regarding abolition of the decree of the Central Election Commission and deprivation of deputy powers of P.Baloha and O.Dombrovskyi, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Volodymyr Rybak took the decision to appeal to the Constitutional Court of Ukraine with a petition requesting to interpret respective articles of the Constitution and mechanisms of implementing the decision of the High Administrative Court acquisition and loss of deputy’s mandate.

In connection with this, Volodymyr Rybak approached people’s deputies with a proposal to prepare and make the respective appeal to be referred to the Constitutional Court of Ukraine as soon as possible.

“I believe that the Constitutional Court of Ukraine should put this matter, which is viewed from two diametrically opposing views, to rest,” the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada stressed. “From one perspective, it is mandatory to implement the decision of the High Administrative Court, which came into force according to the Constitution and Laws of Ukraine. From another, the stand of certain people’s deputies, who believe that the decision of the High Administrative Court contradicts the Constitution of Ukraine. The Constitutional Court has the final word in this discussion,” noted the Speaker.
