Ukraine is interested in quickest possible signing of the Association Agreement and its enactment. Special attention in this context should be focused on deepened and comprehensive Free Trade Zone, provided by the Agreement. This was said by the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Rybak during his meeting with the EU Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy Stefan Fulle on Thursday.

 

He expressed hopes that the 16th EU-Ukraine Summit on February 25 this year will be an important stage on the way to signing the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement and transition to the second Implementation phase of the Visa Liberalization Action Plan. Thereat, Volodymyr Rybak named abolition of visa regime for short-term trips of Ukrainian citizens to the EU be the top priority for Ukrainian authorities. 

 

I intend to make every effort for the Verkhovna Rada maximally quickly adopt all the bills, required for finishing of the first legislative phase of Visa Liberalization Action Plan,” he said.

 

Speaking about further EU-Ukraine Visa Facilitation Agreement, the Chairman of the Parliament stressed the importance of quickest possible enactment of the Agreement on amending Visa Facilitation Agreement and assured that the Verkhovna Rada is ready to quickly consider the respective issue.
