The Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs Vitaliy Kaliuzhnyi met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to Ukraine Ernesto Antonio Senti Darias

At the beginning of the meeting, the Chairman of the Committee stated that the peoples of Ukraine and Cuba are related by perennial friendship and stressed the importance of strengthening of inter-parliamentary cooperation in the context of general development of bilateral relations.       

 

V. Kaliuzhnyi also expressed his gratitude to the Cuban Party for realization of the program of free treatment for Ukrainian children affected by the Chornobyl disaster in Cuba. 

 

E.A. Senti Darias informed of the interest of the Republic of Cuba in further development of mutually-beneficial economic cooperation with Ukraine, which, according to V.Kaliuzhnyi, has significant unexhausted potential. Despite the possibility of development of traditional spheres of bilateral cooperation, the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba stressed the necessity to open up new spheres of efficient cooperation, such as tourism.
