The Committee on Environmental Policy, Use of Natural Resources and Chornobyl Aftermath Mitigation plans to prepare several bills to be considered during the second session of the Verkhovna Rada of the seventh convocation

During the meeting, the Committee Chair Iryna Sekh focused attention on the bills that are being prepared for the second reading. Particularly, the draft law to amend the Code of Ukraine on Mineral Resources (re special licenses for using mineral resources) (Reg. No. 0874). The bill stipulates amending articles 16 and 20 of the Code of Ukraine on Mineral Resources.

The Committee prepares the draft law regarding strengthening state control over the use of natural resources that are in private ownership of economic entities (Reg. No. 1046) for the first reading.  

The Committee plans to consider several other bills to be registered in the established order during the second session.

Committee’s working plan stipulates holding several visiting sessions as well as parliamentary hearings on the following issues: “Environmental problems of shale gas extraction in Ukraine”, “On the state, measures and prospects of Chornobyl aftermath mitigation”, “Environmental and economic prospects of implementing regional programs at the expense of budget revenues from subsurface management” .
