The Committee on Family Matters, Youth Policy, Sport and Tourism considered the problem of improvement of legislative support of life and health insurance of sportsmen who participate in competitions

At the moment, the Committee is considering a bill to supplement article 40 of the Law of Ukraine “On Physical Culture and Sport” (re insuring the competition participants) (Reg. No. 0950, second reading).

 

It was stressed during the discussion that some heads of sports federations doubt the relevance of adopting the bill in the version offered, as this could lead to significant increase of sports competition costs.

 

By results of consideration, the Committee resolved to hold the hearings “Improvement of legislative provision of life and health insurance of sportsmen who participate in competitions” to give the floor to representatives of leading sports organizations, insurance companies, academics, and other specialists for elaboration of balanced proposals to the bill.
